Well, this is certainly the dumbing down of the VW buying public. I’m a big VW fan, but these ads are terrible. Sure, the new car is a great value, but it doesn’t have to be done in such a stupid way. I think the VW community deserves better.

    Hey Lee… Chill out. jeez.

If you are such a big fan of VeeDubs you should have got a hint by now that they are always portraying their cars to be a fun experience to drive… I mean did you watch the GTI’s campaign couple years ago? all the New Beetle commercials for the past ten years? I mean… they even got us to buy “Soundtracks” of the commercials.

Its all about audiences… You probably own a Phaeton…

Can someone please confirm when and where “Backseat Dancer” was shot?

What city is the 2011 Jetta commercial filmed in? This is the one where the Jetta is crossing a long bridge (or causeway) and there’s a fairly large city in the background. At the end of the ad, the Jetta is driving through a pretty residential neighborhood.

I have always found VW”s US adverts were pretentious and silly. I think the add writers are trying to carry on in the same vein as the European Adds. They have no real feel for the European outlook and come across corny and annoying. The cars are great though.
