VIFF ‘An Open Mind Is Advised’ Advertising Campaign

Vancouver International Film Festival - An Open Mind Is Advised


The Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) is among the largest film festivals in North America and is one of the largest cultural events in Canada. The 2009 festival takes place October 1 to 16 and 150,000 people are expected to attend approximately 640 screenings of 360 films from 80 countries.

For this year’s Vancouver International Film Festival Ad campaign is under the theme “An Open Mind Is Advised” which tips a hat to the fact that the subject matter and international nature of many films at the festival are best viewed with an open mind.

The campaign includes print, also comes with a series of 3 in-theatre spots, Disturbing, Sexuality and Subtitles. The ads encompass various elements associated with non-traditional cinema, from strange sexual explorations to subtitles that appear out of sync with the film’s content.
