Nike multi-sport brand campaign “Boom” featured sport stars

Preparing to enter anything in the new season with some of the biggest sporting championships, Nike and Wieden + Kennedy launched a campaign focused on different sports around the theme “Boom.”

In this campaign Nike explored what “Boom” really is. What is a “Boom” moment? A “Boom” moment is a game changing play. It’s what makes people talk. It’s a moment you want to see clearly on replay and see the muscles twitching in the athletes face as he realizes that they have just beaten the odds and taken the win for themselves.

Some of the greatest athletes and coaches from many different sports, including Adrian Peterson, Robinson Cano, Serena Williams, Manny Pacquiao, Bo Jackson and Nick Saban appear in 15 seconds spots of “Boom” series to show the viewer the visual interpretation of what a BOOM moment is. Watch these commercials below.

BOOM: High School Football. Nick Saban shows up for the big hit. BOOM!

BOOM: Drumline. The drumline takes us to school. BOOM!

BOOM: Tailor. In this spot NFL players Tim Tebow and Ndamukong Suh are getting tailored and watching the final moments of Manny’s 2008 TKO victory over David Diaz. With the ending knockout, each man yells out the signature “boom” catchphrase.

BOOM: Cano and Bo. Bo Jackson is one tough critic. BOOM!

BOOM: Rick Ross. With Rick Ross not being an athlete, Nike constructed the Miami emcee’s “pivotal moment” as buying a gaudy new chain, which comes to life and also utters the “boom” catchphrase.
