New Mexico DOT Commercial: Some Things Can’t Be Reversed

New MexicoDepartment of Transportation has launched a TV ad campaign to attract attention to the horrifying consequences of drinking and driving. The TV spot called “Some Things Can’t Be Reversed” shows a story about a father who lost his daughter because of drinking and driving. The challenge of this campaign was to shock people who think that having a drink and then driving with children in the car is acceptable and to show these people what the pain of losing a child is like.

I find your ad “Some things can’t be reversed.” to be disgusting and horrific. As an over the road truck driver I’ve seen many tragic accidents however just north of Lubbock, Tx. I saw four young people collide with a semi truck all thrown from the vehicle before my eyes with a pretty young girl lying dead right in front of me face up in the middle of I27. It took me a long time to forget that image and now you have brought that horrible day back. If it continues to haunt me I shall seek therapy and look into possible legal action against you.
