Mercedes-Benz CLA has released one more video from its 2013 campaign. This time it is hotter.
The video features Kate Upton, who washes Mercedes-Benz. In slow motion! The Super Bowl video also features a bunch of young football players, who cannot take their eyes off of Kate. The controversial video received criticism over the fact that (again) women are being exploited for consumerism.
Gail Dines, the co-author of Gender, Race and Class in Media: A Critical Reader, said: “It’s so clearly turning her into an object. It’s a more traditional, old-fashioned sexism, one where the male gaze is clearly in charge”.
